We made it!  When I first starting talking about planning our SAS birthday bash, JulieO told me it was too early to think about it. And if you get stuck, you can ask for help and we’ll give you some hints.  Here, I’ll show you the brag books made by Rebecca too.

I can’t tell you where these are, but I’ll give you a little secret hint … my brag books are hidden somewhere in our products.  And since there are only seven of them in the store so far, you shouldn’t have to look too far to find 2 goodies. Right?

Update:  There seems to be some confusion on were to get part 2. It’s in this week’s newsletter along with 3 other newsletter exclusive freebies.  You don’t need to sign up or join anything to get them. If you just want to dash in and snag this freebie, it’s on the Back to School is Cool page.  Just click on the title in the table of contents.  There are links to a bunch of other freebies in addition to those four,so you might want to take a look around to find them. Some are on other people’s blogs (look at the Color Challenge pages) and some others require you to get them from the store.  In all I can think of one awesome freebie from Sherah, another piece of a freebie kit being given out by Brenda Mascari and a bunch of samplers from our other new designer, Lara’s Digi World.  In my opinion it’s well worth signing up to get, but that’s up to you. Okay, well it probably won’t be too much of a surprise when we announce it on Wednesday, lol, but try to act surprised anyway.

Diane and I find ourselves in need of a Creative Team, so we’re holding a CT call.  This call is open to scrappers of all levels, so don’t be afraid to apply.  We all have to start somewhere, and we’re new designers, so we can grow together.  Our requirements are simple.  All we ask is that you create at least 2 layouts with each kit you receive and post them to four galleries, including DST and SAS.  Now personally, I’d love to see you leave each other comments on each other’s layouts.  I just love that type of team spirit.  But we’re not going to formally require it.  If you’re interested, you can email us at thescrappytimes@gmail.com.

Diane and I have been very busy working on new kits and revamping some of our earlier ones.  Kitten Kaboodle and For the Birds have both had a facelift already.  We finally got past our mental design block and Puppy Love is almost finished. Diane has completed her part on our movie and first haircut kits, so we’re going to have lots of goodies for you, just as soon as I do my part, lol.  Hot off the presses, I’ve just finished the final four brag book pages for Pool Party.  I ended up making a few more papers to round out the collection.  One is based on napkin we saw Ikea, which proves inpiration can be found anywhere.  I think it’s one of my favorite papers that I’ve ever created.

I spent a lot of time this week changing the SAS newsletter over to a PDF format. We’d been getting a lot of requests for it over the past year, and I finally figured out how to do correctly.  Of course I no sooner changed the format, when I started receiving emails asking me to switch it back.  It just goes to show that you can’t please everyone.  Here’s the link to this week’s newsletter. We’re having a party and you’re invited.  Have you ever noticed how many beach kits there are out there?  Well, what if you don’t live near the beach. We do, but we hang out at the pool a lot more than we go to the beach.  It’s a pretty versatile kit, with flippers, googles, a snorkle, and a life vest, you could use it for beach photos too.  (If your kids are like mine, they bring all this stuff to the pool too, lol.)

By now you should know how we do this.  My sister, Diane, creates all the really cute elements and some of the papers for the kit, then passes it on to me.  I create the brag book pages to product test the kit, create any additional papers and elements I felt I needed and add them to the kit.  To kick off our pool party, we’re giving you the first four brag book pages.  But this isn’t the end of the party, so be sure to check back for more.
